Spring cleaning and remodels
Today we decided to tackle some cleaning and reorganizing. Rebecca had been asking, yes asking, to move the coach and clean behind it. I can never figure out how sticky messes and TONS of toys end up under and behind our coach. But it was all there. I should have taken a picture of what we found but I was not prepared to keep it that real! Then we moved to the playroom. There were so many ripped and torn books to discard, puzzles with pieces missing, toys no one plays with etc. We filled 2 bags for garbage and 3 bags for goodwill. The kids also went thru their huge collections of stuffed toys and gave a bunch to goodwill.
We are also having some more painting done. We are currently at a standstill because TJ is scared he will get chicken pox so he wants to wait until it passes before he finishes up the painting. Our friend Curtis came over to hang the Crown molding in the hall way. It looks so nice. It is great to have friends that are professorial carpenters. He charges a fair price and does GREAT work. He will also be building our lower kitchen cabinets when we are ready. That will be a major project as we have to do it all at once, cabinets, counter tops and new sink. So my kitchen will out of commission for a little while. We are thinking of having it done while we are at the lake or when we go on our annual road trip this year. I would love that because I could come home to a finished kitchen and not have to deal with the mess! Sounds great huh?
We also got the movie Wreck It Ralph today. We did not see it in the theater. And so the kids were really looking forward to seeing it when it came out. We are saving it for our weekly popcorn movie night tomorrow. I love having the option of getting it on Digital copy. We usually download it to ITunes and then it can be watched on our IPods and also on the computer. Anyone else see it?

We watched Wreck-It Ralph recently, and I was very impressed with it. It was really sweet. The only thing that surprised me, and I didnt really like, is that it didnt have original music, which I've never seen with a Disney movie. It had pop music in it. It wasnt bad music (no bad words), I was just surprised. it was good, though, I ended up liking it as much as the kids. Now my daughter wants to go to Disney to see the characters. I was looking on Pinterest (are you on there? Its amazing!), and found a link to a website that lists a bunch of adoption-themed movies. I'll be going through those soon :)
ReplyDeletelol I wish I could get some painting done in our house. All our walls are the same old boring white it was built with. We are trying to tidy up and clear out a bunch of the kids' junk as well because it's homestudy time! We are trying to get licensed.
